YOUR PRIVATE LOG HOUSE RIGHT ON ACTIVE PASS!

InTheBluff is a wonderful escape – an artisan 2-bedroom log home with modern amenities perched high over Active Pass.  It is on a very private acreage with over 700 feet of stunning water-frontage, including onto Matthews Point Beach with trail access via the adjacent park.

The log home is surrounded by Garry oak, Arbutus, Douglas fir, and cedar trees and very comfortably accommodates up to four (we are not suitable for children or pets due to proximity of cliffs and fast-moving waters).

InTheBluff offers two bedrooms (each with queen size beds), the larger being upstairs and boasting spectacular ocean views from its private balcony. In keeping with the log house theme, the upstairs bathroom is spacious and features a clawfoot tub and separate shower stall. There is also an upstairs loft / TV room (HD Antenna) with its own view balcony. Excellent free Wi-Fi is provided.

The second smaller bedroom is tucked away on the ground floor. A two-piece bathroom with laundry, kitchen, dining area and living room with a Tulikivi (Finnish soapstone) fireplace are also on the ground level which opens to the expansive deck.

The well-equipped kitchen features a classic Heartland electric range, microwave, and dishwasher for your vacationing convenience. Get cozy by the wood-burning fireplace and take in a postcard view over Active Pass where BC Ferries pass midpoint on their Tsawwassen/Swartz Bay run.  The lookout and local hiking are second to none in the Southern Gulf Islands.

InTheBluff is located on Active Pass, which falls within a designated IBA – Important Bird Area. See activepassiba.ca for more information and keep the camera and binoculars handy!  We are also well known for land-based whale (orca's and the occasional humpback) watching. The local pods typically come from the south and circle Helen Point (flashing white marker) into Active Pass.  Sightings are most common in summer months.
